Teams & permissions
Workspaces can have multiple people — some who can edit, some who can only view, and some who can invite others. Permissions control who can do what, keeping your work organized and secure.
Permission levels
| Permission | What they can do |
|---|---|
| View | See content, but not change it |
| Edit | Make changes to content |
| Edit & Share | Make changes and invite other people |
Permissions are hierarchical: Edit & Share includes everything Edit can do, which includes everything View can do.
Managing members
Where: Settings → Workspace → Members
The Members page shows everyone with access to your workspace, organized into sections:
Members
Full workspace members with their permission level. The Owner is marked with a badge — they always have Edit & Share access and can't be downgraded.
Guests
People with access to specific projects, folders, or documents — but not full workspace access. Useful when you need to share part of your work without giving access to everything.
Invited
Pending invitations that haven't been accepted yet. You can:
- Resend invite — Send another email
- Remove — Cancel the invitation
Inviting people
- Go to Settings → Workspace → Members
- Click Invite member
- Enter their email address
- Choose a permission level
- Send the invitation
They'll receive an email with a link to join.
Changing permissions
Click the permission dropdown next to any member to change their access level. The owner's permission can't be changed.
Troubleshooting
Why can't I see the Members page?
You need Edit & Share permission to manage workspace members. Ask the workspace owner for access.
Why can't I change someone's permission?
- You can't change the owner's permission
- You need Edit & Share permission yourself to change others
Someone has access but isn't in the Members list
Check the Guests section. They may have partial access to specific items rather than full workspace membership.
